1730 · THE BEGINNING
It all began with a spring
The story of this special place begins with the discovery of a mineral spring in 1730. Its waters gave rise to the Gesundbrunnen spa – the beginning of a development that would shape Haus Brunnen for centuries. A place where people sought rest gradually became a haven of tranquillity and encounters.
1751 · THE MANOR HOUSE
Summer residence of the Prince-Abbots of Corvey
Between 1751 and 1753, the Baroque manor house was built as a summer residence for the Prince-Abbots of Corvey. Originally three storeys high, it included a grand ballroom that provided a setting for social gatherings. Architecture, landscape and the nearby mineral spring came together to create a distinctive country residence.

Construction of Haus Brunnen

PRESERVING THE PAST, LOOKING AHEAD
A house through the ages
The centuries have left their mark. Alterations and the reduction in size during the 1930s changed the manor house without taking away its historic character. To this day, the architecture and the established parkland form a distinctive ensemble. Listed status, granted in 1985, recognises this heritage and entrusts its careful preservation to future generations.
